My sister and I took the kids to the zoo on Labor Day. When we pulled into the parking lot, it was PACKED! People were parking on the street and walking. When I pulled into the lot, I doubted we'd be able to find a place to park, and debated about just going to the beach instead, but a car pulled out right in front as we were swooping through. What luck! There were cars EVERYWHERE driving slowly up and down each aisle, and we just happened to get a spot right away! First thing we did was feed the budgies :)

Pretty Bird!
We were able to go to Tiger Talk and watch them feed the Tigers. We saw them a lot closer up then usual. Pretty neat!
I think he thought we were lunch.
Such a pretty animal!
Next we saw the new baby clouded leopards
They had doubled in size since we saw them several weeks ago. They now weigh 7lbs and look to be about the size of your average house cat now, maybe a tiny bit smaller.
It's like all the animals were LOVING this hot weather! they were all out and close to where the people could view them.
Because it was pretty hot, we decided to just go through half of the zoo. But before we left, the kids rode the Merry Go Round. Ava chose the poison dart frog
Cristian chose the UW Husky dog, and Carter wanted chose this horse.
There was a pretty peacock that greeted us after our ride
He was not at all scared by our presence.

Those babies are SO cute! I think we need to hit the zoo again now that it's starting to cool down a little.
