Summer Sports

After a very busy summer of baseball 3 days a week, swim lessons, and gymnastics camp, our summer sports season has come to an end. (Well, almost. Cristian still has ONE last game this Thursday Sept 1st). I didn't post pictures of every game, but here are a couple of my favorites throughout the season. Carter watching his brother through the fence. Hard to believe next summer I'll have 3 kids playing baseball... WOW!
Cristian at bat. It was really fun to watch this age group play baseball this year. It's a team of 2nd and 3rd graders, co-ed, coach pitch. Each child got 5 pitches (max). This was the first year that there were outs, and they kept score. (Cristian's team went 8-1 this year, with one game remaining). Cristian caught pop flies, helped turn a double play, and got several ground outs. It was actually starting to look like real baseball was being played out there :)
Post game celebration
Cristian and Bailey , excited that one of the parents got the kids little cans of pop for an after game treat :)

And then there's Ava's team. We spend more time laughing to ourselves as the kids "play" baseball. It's so funny to watch 5 kids run after the same ground ball, and then pig pile on top of each other trying to be "the one" who comes out of the pile with the ball. Or, watch a kid field the ball, then throw it to a 1st baseball who is off in la-la land and has no idea the ball is coming his/her way. What a difference 3 years makes! This was a coach pitch, co-ed league for 5 and 6 year olds. (coach pitches you the ball 3 times, and if you don't hit it, then you get to use the T). Look at that stance! She didn't have to use the T once this year, my little slugger!
Ava was often times the only one paying attention and aware of what was going on. She would get into a "ready" position in the field when the other team was at bat. She'd run the bases as players behind her got hits.
She also LOVED playing for her audience!
Put me in Coach, I'm ready to PLAY!
Team huddle. Surprised someone isn't picking grass :)

Cute pictures! I'm glad they had so much fun playing baseball, and that it was so entertaining watching them. Looks like you have two super star athletes {and a 3rd next year :-)}!
