The kids were really looking forward to Vacation Bible School this year (VBS). On the first day, they were given these shirts to wear all week. Cristian was excited that the 3rd grade class got red shirts, his favorite color! And of course, we LOVE purple in our house... so my kids couldn't have gotten more perfect colors! The theme of this year's VBS was Ship Wreck Cove (and all the teachers, volunteers, Church staff wore pirate costumes). According to what they told me, this is what Cristian and Ava learned throughout the week... "The main message was to Trust God at all times! He can calm treacherous waters, guide you through any storm, and he will always be there for you." (Cristian). "God wants to be your friend, and he is always there for you whenever you need him" (Ava). They learned several memory verses, did some really neat crafts that went along with their theme, and came home singing 2 new songs. They also helped the Church reach their goal of donating 3,000 non-perishable food items to our local food bank, and they also brought money from their piggy banks to help reach the Church's goal of donating $1,000 to World Vision Ministries.

Such a fun thing for the kids and it's always great to help the community! :) I bet they loves the pirate them too!
Sounds like a fun week for your kids!! Awesome that they had so much fun and were able to help others too. Sweet messages they took away from their lessons too :-)
