Carter's Birthday Party

We had Carter's birthday party at the fair this year. We lucked out with the weather... it was overcast, but muggy and a very pleasant temperature. We met everyone at the main gate and then went straight to Sillyville (aka, kid land :). The kids enjoyed playing this homemade musical instrument set while we set up the lunch area.
Carter playing drums
Having a great time!
Ava, Cami, and Cristian
Carter saying hi to Nannie and Great Nana
Ready for PIZZA!!
Lighting the candles
Carter checking out the fire
instead of the traditional birthday cake, we opted to get fair scones for everyone as dessert :) Carter smiling while everyone sang to him!
Not so sure about getting all of the attention :)
blowing out his 2 candles
After we ate, the kids enjoyed going on a couple of rides. Carter and Cami (who just turned 2 too) on the canoe ride
here they come
cute cousins!
Rylie (who will be 2 in 10 days) and her sister Brynn
Ava and Elise
Smile girls!
here come Carter and Cami again
Cristian
Leland (who turned 2 at the end of August) and Wyatt
Sofia (who also turned 2 at the end of August) and Charlotte (who will be 2 in December)
The boys
Wyatt, Leland, Ava, and Elise
Rylie, Brynn, and Charlotte
Sofia and Cami
These next couple of pictures are blurry (had my camera on the wrong setting for motion pictures) but Carter was just grinning from ear to ear every time he went around.
Big grin and a wave, feeling like such a big boy!
Hi birthday boy!
Then we passed out goody bags so the kiddos would be entertained sitting in their strollers to go look at the animals. (they have the cutest 5 day old baby pigs!)
We went to the petting zoo!
Ava petting the sheep
Carter petting a bunny
Group shot of all the kids (minus Cristian who went back to school after the rides)
Group shot 2
Carter opening his presents
He was very excited when he saw what I unwrapped in this bag...
a HUSKY shirt... his response was "OHHH, HUSKIES!!"
And then it was nap time, so we all left. (but not before I snapped a picture of Carter and his Nannie, who next to me, is his favorite person in the world!) It was a fun way to do a birthday party!! The kids really had a lot of fun.

That is so cool that it worked well for you to celebrate his birthday at the fair! What a neat idea, and it looks like all the kids had a blast. Carter did look way too grown up on that truck ride, he looked like he loved it though.

Emma would have been in heaven with those 5 day old piglets, that's her dream pet. And seriously, she better keep dreaming :-)
