Our original plan was to come home on July 3rd so we could spend our tradition 4th of July at the lake with our friends... but we decided to play by weather. As you can see... the sunny 80 degree day beat out the cloudy, 65 degree home temps. Here are the kids in their 4th of July outfits, ready for the festivities at Sun River!

The kids holding their flags!

Our red, white, and blue family :)

Yes, I dressed us like twins :)

The fireman and police hosted a 4th of July picnic at Fort Rock Park. The kids enjoyed getting to take a little tour inside a fire truck!

Carter jumping in the toddler jump house

Cristian and Ava jumping in the big kid jump house. (the kids are looking at each other and jumping :)

The kids with Smokey the Bear

Eating a picnic lunch prepared by the firemen and their wives

The boys enjoying some cotton candy

Ava too (you can see the jump houses in the background)

Enjoying some more treats! (in the background you can see the volleyball court... they had lots of games and activities for the kids to play and enjoy)

Enjoying a fruitsicle.

The picnic went from 11-3:00. (and fireworks were not allowed in Sun River) So we decided to drive home so we could make it back in time for dessert and fireworks :)

These pictures aren't the best because they were taken while we were driving through a tinted window :) but the mountains are beautiful. Here are the 3 sisters

And another mountain (not mt. hood, I'll have to look up and see which one this is)

And the more desert type landscape out the other window.

Quick stop for ice cream at DQ :)

Mine and Ava's matching toes
We got back home just before it got dark. We enjoyed a very yummy home mande strawberry pie that my mom made! And Aunt Tricia put on a great fire work show, like usual :) The kids were so excited she got them some sparklers!!

The kids with their red, white, and blue glow sticks (although Carter's looks yellow instead of white in this picture)

Grandpa helped plug Carter's ears when the big ones were lit off

Cristian's sparkler

Carter was fascinated with the sparklers.

Boom!

Another big one...

By the end of the night (we stayed at my parents house until 11pm) Ava and Carter were sitting on my mom and my laps. But Cristian was still running around super excited. It's like the fireworks were giving him all this energy. I think the 4th of July will always be one of his favorite holidays just like it is mine :)

What a fun fourth of july. Love the matching toes/outfits that you and Ava were sporting!
Those are great family pics of you, all in your red, white and blue! And the one of Cristian with his sparkler turned out so cool too.
I agree that your and Ava's matching toes and outfits are very cute!
