Glimpses of Summer

In the month of May, we had several warm sunny days that gave us a glimpse of the summer weather that we hope is just RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER :) We had an unusual wet and chilly spring, so we are looking forward to some consistent sunshine! We took full advantage of the sun when it was out... we sat outside and enjoyed our lattes :)
We ate lunch outside!
We did lots of bike riding, skating, and playing on the big toy!
We remembered to stay hydrated
and we remembered to wear our helmets!
and played with some side walk chalk
Enjoyed the spectacular view!
And saw our state bird, the Goldfinch.

Mary Poppins

Kyle and I enjoyed a date night at the Theater thanks to my parents! We saw Mary Poppins and both really liked it! My favorite part was the Chimney Sweep scene towards the end. My parents also took my kids to see it too a couple days after we went. They loved when Bert walked on the wall and ceiling, and when Mary Poppins flew over the audience at the end :) There are several plays coming to broadway this next year that are kid friendly... Aladdin, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast. We're hoping to make it to at least one of the three; it's such a fun experience for the kids to dress up and go to Broadway shows!

Cristian's Birthday Party

We had Cristian's birthday party on Saturday May 14th this year at our local putt putt golf complex. Cristian chose batman this year as his party theme :)

When the kids arrived, we had lunch first. Cristian chose pizza, yogurt, pea pods and carrots, and I let him splurge and get Sierra mist and Mug Root beer for everyone to drink :)

After our 18 holes of mini-golf, all the kids got to take a few turns in the batting cages. Cristian started where he left off at the end of last season... smacking that ball. (you can see it at the very top of the photo)

We had to open presents at home because we filled those 2 party hours with LOTS of FUN!! Ava brought Cristian one present at a time from the trunk to open, what a helper. It was a really fun party, and most importantly, Cristian really enjoyed his special day!
